Current Funding Efforts

Since its independence from the State Bar in 2001, CCBA’s primary funding source has been the voluntary contributions collected through the affirmative check-off on the annual State Bar fee invoice. As announced at the September 2018 Annual Conference, this will no longer be the case.  The Board’s top priority for at least 2019 and 2020 is to actively diversify CCBA’s revenue.  To that end, on November 3, 2018, the Board of Directors unanimously approved a resolution to develop and implement a plan, beginning immediately, to explore and develop new revenue opportunities.  These include developing relationships with attorneys who have supported CCBA in the past several years through the Bar dues bill check-off, partnerships with local and other voluntary bar associations, corporate sponsorships, support from vendors that serve the legal profession, and other funding streams.  The goal of this robust effort is to eliminate CCBA’s dependence on the revenue generated by the State Bar dues bill check-off.
