Please be aware that Legislative Day 2018 will now be held on March 19. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but circumstances presented an opportunity wherein our organization will greatly benefit from this change.
Last year we had the honor and privilege to be invited to attend the State of the Judiciary Address, and to co-host the reception for the Chief Justice thereafter with the Judicial Council. We were hopeful to do the same this year, but by February 6 still had no answer as to a date for the address and felt for our organization’s planning purposes as to our event, we had to choose a date and move forward.
Fate being what it is, several days later a date for the Chief’s address was chosen and confirmed. Furthermore, we learned the Judicial Council was very enthusiastic about our involvement again this year.
In consultation with Larry Doyle, our professional lobbyist, and the Board of Directors, it was decided that the benefits of the date change far outweighed all other considerations and the accelerated planning timeline.
For anyone not in attendance at last year’s Legislative Day it was extremely memorable and exciting. We were invited to observe the Chief’s address in the gallery of the Capitol, and then after we were able interact with judges, legislators, and the Chief Justice at a reception that we were co-hosting.
We should be able to finalize negotiations with the DoubleTree hotel in Sacramento extremely quickly, as we have an existing relationship and can easily secure all necessary accommodations including a shuttle bus.
The cost to you, our delegates, is $50.00 for lunch, MCLE, and the reception. This will be an experience to remember, and one to share afterwards with legal colleagues in your community.
We are currently planning to accept your $50.00 registration payment at the event through check, cash, or credit card via our Apple Pay devices!
