News From the Conference of California Bar Associations

AND THEY'RE OFF!

The State Bar reports that the 2010 Dues Bill has been signed and the annual Dues Statements have been mailed. You may already have received yours.

Included on your Statement will be an opportunity to give $35 to the Conference of California Bar Associations. The Conference provides one of a very few forums for lawyers to propose changes to California law. This year, with our new lobbyist Larry Doyle, we expect to have our most vibrant and productive relationship with the Legislature yet. But, we can’t do it without your support.

Believe it or not, your small donation, along with the donations of other California attorneys, makes the Conference possible. This year, more than ever, we need every California attorney who is concerned with improving the law to make a $35 contribution. We also need everyone who is committed to the Conference to pass this very important message on to friends and colleagues.

Again, please join thousands of California lawyers in supporting the Conference of California Bar Associations with your $35 voluntary dues payment.

Thank you for your support!

MORE ON OUR LEGISLATIVE PROGRAM

Our lobbyist is hard at work finding authors for new legislation based on our 2009 and earlier approved resolution, or placing parts of our legislative program into existing resolutions. He is making sure that any legislator or staffer who doesn't know about the Conference of California Bar Associations is fully educated about why we are so important to the California Legislative process. In the next week or two, we'll be updating our website with links to all pending legislation associated with our activities in Sacramento. Stay tuned!

2010 CALENDAR

The 2010 Calendar has been updated and is prominently posted at www.calconference.org. Please remember that resolutions are now due by 5 p.m. on March 12, 2010. For questions about form, check the Guide for Proponents.
