May Events

The 2009 Jim Pfeiffer Awards Dinner is just over one month away and we need your help and support! To be a successful event, we need sponsors, we need advertisers and we need people at the dinner. CCBA recognizes that these are tough financial times. We have been impacted too. And we’ve acknowledged the economy by a substantial reduction in the price of Dinner Sponsorship and Tickets as compared with 2007 and 2008.

Here’s what we need you to do RIGHT NOW:

Annual Conference Updates

Hotel Registration: As most of you should know by now, we've moved the site of the 2009 Conference to the San Diego Bayfront Hilton. The site is gorgeous and we’ve got a lot in store for this year's Conference. You definitely will want to be present on Friday, September 11, when Chair Scott McMillen gavels us to order. And you do not want to miss one moment of the activities which will be happening in conjunction with this year's Conference. While we are not yet accepting Conference registration, you should book your room before our block is sold out.

There are two ways to reserve accommodations: (1) Online at this dedicated Hilton link or (2) by calling the Hilton reservation line at 1-800-HILTONS, specifying the hotel (San Diego Bayfront Hilton in San Diego, California) and the group. We are listed under both CCBA and Conference of California Bar Associations. Our room rate is $209/night. If you have any problems making reservations, please contact or

Resolutions: Despite a slight delay in posting (the 115 resolutions we received required more reformatting and correcting than usual), the 2009 rough Resolutions have been posted to the CCBA website. Delegations should be reviewing for counter arguments; committees and sections should determine if they are sending reports. The deadline is a firm one: May 22, 2009. Please review the main Resolutions page for instructions on these submissions. The Resolutions Committee will meet in June; as soon as their work is done, final resolutions will be posted.
